About the Air Ambulance service
-
The Air Ambulance is built for speed, and designed to reach the scene of an incident quickly as well as reaching remote and inaccessible areas. Clinicians and life-saving support equipment can be rushed to the scene within minutes.
-
No funding is received from the National Lottery. We rely on the generosity and goodwill of people and businesses, and on fundraising initiatives such as the Flight for Life Lottery.
-
It costs in the region of £380,000 per month to cover all charitable costs and aircraft operations for both Essex and Herts Air Ambulances.
-
Increasing traffic, extreme sports, diverse weather … all of these issues and more contribute to one simple fact. The Air Ambulance is an essential emergency service.
